She loves grocery shopping. \nVoted “Best Comedian in Washtenaw County” in 2022 and 2023 by Current Magazine\, Andrew Yang is a Michigan comic who runs shows at a punk rock venue in the Blind Pig and is a founder of the Tree Town Comedy Festival. Onstage\, Andrew charms audiences with his energetic personality and engrossing stories mostly at his own expense. He has been fortunate enough to work with a few of his comedy heroes including Beth Stelling\, Jackie Kashian\, and one time had lunch with Maria Bamford. Andrew has performed on festivals across the country including the Upper Left Comedy Festival in Seattle\, Let’s Fest in Indianapolis\, and the Treefort Music Festival in Boise. He has also been featured on NPR. When he’s not on stage he’s probably on Yelp trying to decide what to eat later. \nIan Squintz is a comedian from Cincinnati. His self deprecating humor will have you feel like that sailor hat looks good on you. He has been describes as “so handsome” and “so cool.” He has jokes you’ll see. \nRashika Jaipuriar is a journalist turned stand-up comedian based in Cincinnati\, Ohio. She’s witty\, entertaining and eager to get personal on stage\, skillfully combining her charming storytelling style with unexpected punchlines. Since that time the popularity of the band has grown beyond the Comet lounge\, opening for such national acts as Sam Bush\, Blue Highway\, Del McCoury\, Peter Rowan and Ricky Skaggs. \nThe Sunday night Bluegrass sessions at the Comet are informal and known to draw a diverse\, “listening” audience\, from small children to senior citizens. Those attending the shows find each member of the band accomplished singers and multi-instrumentalists in their own right\, with the live combination of these players presenting an even greater sum than its parts\, through amazing musical interplay and high lonesome bluegrass harmony.

Her debut novel “First Time\, Long Time” is forthcoming from Grand Central Publishing in 2024. She holds a PhD in Creative Writing and Literature at the University of Southern California\, where she teaches. \nHer work has appeared in The Paris Review\, The New Yorker\, The New York Times\, TriQuarterly\, The Southern Review\, The Los Angeles Review of Books\, and many other publications. Her short story “Suburbia!” appeared in Best American Short Stories\, and is currently optioned for a tv show. Amy also writes for television\, most recently “The Movie Show” on the SYFY Channel. \nAmy’s stand-up comedy has been featured on Comedy Central\, Hulu\, NPR\, and Amazon Prime. She was selected as a “New Face” at the prestigious Just For Laughs Comedy Festival in Montreal. \nBy blending personal experiences with short jokes and one-liners\, Lena Beamish is able to connect with the audience in spite of being – in her own words – “fundamentally weird”. Her credits include Sirius XM\, Don’t Tell Comedy\, and Cincy Brew Ha-Ha\, as well as placing 3rd in Louisville’s Funniest Person\, 3 years in a row. \nWhen not onstage\, Lena can be found drawing\, writing music\, and making friends with every cat she meets. \n \nChris Siemer has affectionately been described as the Midwest’s most endearing moral degenerate\, but if you ask him\, he’s just misunderstood. If you have ever wanted to say\, “I saw them ‘when'”\, this is your ‘when’. \n \nComedians \nIf you aren’t familiar with Ben Roy\, he’s been taking comedy audiences by storm since 2004\, bringing an unparalleled energy and unique voice to the stage. Often compared to Lewis Black or Bill Hicks due to his passionate\, ranting approach\, Roy has a style that is definitively his own. \nRoy cut his comedic teeth in Denver at Comedy Works. Since then\, he has been selected to perform at many comedy festivals and has been featured on HBO’s Funny as Hell series; as well as on the Comedy Central shows Adam DeVine’s House Party\, Corporate\, @midnight\, and This Is Not Happening. Ben has released three stand-up comedy albums and was listed as one of Variety’s Top 10 Comics to Watch in 2015. \nAlong with fellow Denver Comedians Adam Cayton-Holland and Andrew Orvedahl (who collectively perform as The Grawlix)\, Ben\, wrote and starred in TruTV’s original comedy series Those Who Can’t\, which ran for three seasons and can now be streamed on HBO Max. In addition to stand-up comedy\, Roy is a prolific musician\, currently the lead singer of SPELLS. \nJoe Shelby is an author\, actor\, and stand-up comedian who got his start at Go Bananas Comedy Club in 2004. His boundary-pushing style is a blend of one-liners\, act-outs\, and experimental humor that connects with audiences everywhere. A year after his big start\, he braved the cold winds of Chicago to study improv at places such as: The Second City\, iO\, The Annoyance Theater and Columbia College Chicago\, where he majored in acting. In 2009 Shelby’s fan base grew as the Chicago Reader voted him “Reader’s Choice Best Comedian.” \nIn 2014 Joe set off on another adventure moving into his van and toured across the country where he was soon swept up by Hollywood.
